NHS Knowledge and Library Hub​

Welcome to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub training 

This training session was aimed at all NHS knowledge and library staff.  The session includes a presentation, demonstration of the Hub and a Q&A opportunity.   Topics covered included: 

  • Accessing the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub 

  • Logging-in and authentication 

  • Basic and advanced searching 

  • Limits and filters 

  • Full-text access 

  • Exporting results 

The live sessions have now finished but a recording will soon be available. Follow up events are being planned for December onwards.

Introduction to LibKey and BrowZine Workshop

This training will introduce the various LibKey products which are covered through the HEE national subscription. 

It will outline how the LibKey suite can be used to help end-users access the information they need.

This training will be useful for a wide range of KLS staff.

Aimed at primarily at Library Managers and Electronic Resources librarians, this training will cover the advanced/admin options for the LibKey suite, including LibKey.io and LibKey Nomad.

Database p​​​​​rovider interfaces​

Database provider interface training – librarian-led sessions and provider-led sessions 

To help move from using HDAS to provider interfaces. Training is available from Proquest, Ovid, EBSCO and Refworks, as well as HEE commissioned ‘Expert Search’ training, which will be provided by a team led by the University of Cambridge Medical Library.

RefWorks​

RefWorks reference management software is available to NHS Knowledge and Library staff who undertake evidence/literature searching.

The workshop will introduce participants to RefWorks.  Training will include:

  • Logging into RefWorks
  • Exporting references into RefWorks
  • Creating a bibliography
  • Using the NHS “house style” format

Sessions will run through to January 2022 (except holiday periods) as follows:

  • Tuesdays, 13:00-14:00
  • Thursdays, 14:00-15:00
