Vicki Veness, Knowledge and Library Services Lead, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust

The Green Libraries Conference was brilliant, certainly lots to think about and very timely given the weather and disruptions that it caused.  My first job on returning has been to join the Green Libraries Network and I'd like the team here to carry out the Carbon Literacy training that Laragh Quinney talked about during the Plenary panel discussion if we can.

As I'm still waiting for my KLS strategy to be signed off, I'll add a small section around sustainability as this fits in with work the Royal Surrey is doing.  We're having new LED lighting and sensors fitted in the library this week so that's a good win!  Hearing about the BL's work around their sustainability strategy was also really interesting as was the Global Green Initiatives Parallel in the afternoon.

As with all conferences another highlight was the opportunity to chat with other librarians working in completely different sectors and contexts.
